Pusha T, came back home for the Holidays to donate 1,000 shoes to families in need in Virginia. In partnership with Adidas, Pusha T was able to help the nonprofit organization 1,000 Shoes for 1,000 Smiles break its record by donating over 1,000 shoes in a single event. This is the first time that 1,000 Shoes for 1,000 Smiles was able to reach this goal.
“1,000 children in need arrived early to the Norview Recreation Center to receive their pair of brand new Adidas. Pusha T helped children try on their shoes. When the shoes ran out, Pusha sent volunteers to a local shoe store to buy more shoes to ensure that every child did not leave empty handed.Other event sponsors included Idea Village, Pac Sun, and Flud Watches. Children received Pac Sun t-shirts, Adidas back packs and socks, and younger children received Flashlight Friends. Together these sponsors were able to ensure that each child did not leave without a gift.Pusha T said “I feel blessed to be able to come back to my community and help 1k Shoes for 1k Smiles reach it’s goal of donating 1000 shoes. This is the first time in the organization’s history that this goal was met and I am so grateful to be a part of it”.Lizetta McKesson, the organization’s founder, said “Being able to give needy school age children brand new shoes for Christmas is a great feeling and with our 10 year anniversary coming up in 2014, it was awesome to hit the 1,000 shoe mark. Without Pusha T wanting to help his hometown community this event wouldn’t have been this big of a success! Thank you to Pusha T and Adidas for caring enought to want to be apart of our organization and help us give back to our community.”About 1000 Shoes for 1000 SmilesA Thousand Shoes For A Thousand Smiles is a non-profit organization formed in 2004.
