The Girls of Blaze is a unique collaboration between PUMA, Solange Knowles, and four emerging designers selected by the singer/songwriter. In 2013 Knowles joined PUMA as a Creative Director for the brand’s women’s lifestyle range and was tasked with launching the first group of PUMA Disc footwear made just for women.

“Over the summer, I paired four incredible designers (Gerlan, William Okpo, Hisham Baroocha ) to interpret the classic — and one of my personal faves — PUMA Disc, each in their own distinctive aesthetic to present “Girls of Blaze” inspired by the sights and sounds of Brazil. I couldn’t be more excited about the result. The shit is wild, and I hope you will be just as in love as I am. This has been a dream job, and the ride has just begun!” – Solange

The collection features four exciting styles, each with a different bright and bold colorway. The lookbook, shot in New Orleans by Knowles boyfriend Alan Ferguson, was also inspired by Brazilian culture and each of the designer’s ability to breathe fresh air into PUMA’s iconic shoe.  The group of designer’s consist of  New York based William Okpo, a Nigerian design label owned by sisters Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, Gerlan Marcel of Gerlan Jeans and Hisham Bharoocha. Solange’s sharp taste for creativity shines through the end product with vibrant features and warm colors, perfectly complementing PUMA’s creative history.
